Wetlands International
A global non-profit organisation dedicated to the conservation and the sustainable management of wetlands. Wetlands International works to sustain and restore wetlands through research, information exchange and conservation activities.
alterra Alterra
Alterra is the research institute for our green living environment. We offer a combination of practical and scientific research in a multitude of disciplines related to the green world around us and the sustainable use of our living environment. Flora and fauna, soil, water, the environment, geo-information and remote sensing, landscape and spatial planning, man and society: just a few of the numerous aspects of our green environment that Alterra focuses on. Alterra is part of the Wageningen University and Research Centre concern. In research and education we closely co-operate with the school of Environmental Sciences from Wageningen University. The exchange of expertise and capacity and the match between fundamental and practical research in various projects give us a scientific advantage.
Oxfam Novib Oxfam Novib
Oxfam Novib is fighting for a just world without poverty. Together with people, organisations, businesses and governments. Through projects and lobby. Locally and internationally. Oxfam-Novib is the donor of the Green Coast project, the first project in which Bio-rights has been implemented on a large scale.
CARE CARE
CARE is one of the world's leading humanitarian organizations fighting global poverty in more than 70 countries. CARE helps communities improve their quality of life through projects in agriculture and natural resources, economic development, education, food, health, water and sanitation and emergency response. CARE is together with Wetlands International, BOS, WWF and the University of Palangka Raya a partner in the Central Kalimantan Peatland Project, which uses the Bio-rights approach to link sustainable development and peatland conservation.
IUCN-NL
IUCN is the world's largest nature conservation organisation, drawing together the world's largest volunteer network of appr. 10,000 experts committed to biodiversity conservation.
NC-IUCN functions as a platform and sounding board for the Dutch members of IUCN and the Dutch members of the international IUCN Commissions.
Other organizations which contribute to the development of the Bio-rights approach inculde: the Global Peatlands Initiative, the International Peat Society, the International Mire Conservation Group, the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage, the Royal Netherlands Embassy, the British Embassy, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and FAO.
